Sevres has produced a wide variety of porcelain pieces throughout the years. Some of the more commonly found pieces are Urns, Vases, Clocks, Garniture Sets, Centerpieces, tea sets, plates and caskets. Sevres produces many of their urns and centerpieces with beautifully detailed dore bronze mounts.
The Sevres Porcelain Factory was founded in 1738 at Chateau de Vincennes, France. From the start, Sevres created finely detailed and hand painted porcelain pieces for the wealthy and privileged. In 1756, the factory was moved to Sevres, where it still operates today. Louis XV took over the entire Sevres porcelain operation in 1759. Nearly all Sevres pieces have a signature double L monogram factory mark. This mark was introduced to protect its production, but has been widely copied throughtout the years.
