Christiaan Karel Appel (April 1921 – May 2006) was a Dutch painter, sculptor, and poet. He started painting at the age of fourteen and studied at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam in the 1940s. He was one of the founders of the avant-garde movement Cobra in 1948. This serigraph is dated 1958 and is signed in pencil to lower right, to the lower left bears the edition number of 6/50 in pencil. Measures 30" (76cm) width by 22" (56cm) height plus 3" (8cm) frame.
