Henri Gaudier-Brzeska (French,1891-1915) was a French artist and sculptor who developed a rough-hewn, primitive style of direct carving. This drawing was purchased while his exhibition was in London at the Leicester Galleries in October 1962. This is number 26 and titled "Man with a beard" . The piece is a colorful watercolor and pastel painting of a man wearing a hat with a long beard. Marked to top right in pencil. Measures 10" (25cm) height by 8" (20cm) width plus 3" (8cm) frame and matting.
