Oil painting on canvas depicting a nude woman attributed to Cristóbal Rojas (Venezuelan, 1857-1890). Rojas was one of the most important and high-profile Venezuelan painters of the 19th century. Rojas' styles varied considerably throughout his life, and he displayed talents in painting that ranged primarily for dramatic effect, to works done in the impressionist style. Measures 25" (63.5cm) height by 17" (43.18cm) width plus approx 5" (12.7cm) frame. Provenance: From an Italian lady, 80 years in age, residing in Miami. She and her husband were lovers of antiques and purchased items, mainly artwork, from antique stores and auctions. She lived first in Italy, then in Venezuela and currently in the USA.
