Allen Simon (1907-2007) arcylic "Kinetic" inspired by Yaacov Agam. Titled "Birds in Flight." Measures 16 1/2"(42cm) x 12" (30.5cm) + 2" (5cm) frame. Allen Simon was born in Sheffield England in 1907. His professional studies included Cooper Union, the National Academy of Design, and the Art Student's League. After struggling economically through The Great Depression, Mr. Simon was offered the position as Art Director of the United Jewish Appeal, a fund raising organization. On a visit to the Museum of Modern Art in New York City in 1967, Allen Simon was intrigued by a kinetic painting by Yaacov Agam, an important Israeli artist. Mr. Simon decided then to develop his own version of kinetic design. This type of design uses abstract and semi-abstract shapes, and greatly varied color schemes.
